Biography:

Anti-Venom is a character appearing in Marvel Comics, primarily associated with Spider-Man.

Eddie Brock, formerly the host of the Venom symbiote, becomes Anti-Venom after a chance encounter with remnants of the Venom symbiote bonding with his white blood cells. This creates a new symbiote with unique abilities.

The Anti-Venom symbiote grants Brock powers similar to Venom, but with the added ability to heal others and "purify" individuals of symbiote influence and other toxins. However, this purifying effect can also harm individuals with unique powers, such as Spider-Man.

Anti-Venom first appears in *The Amazing Spider-Man* #569 (October 2008).
